About

Shanna Paxton Photography

Welcome! I have been practicing photography for 15 years, that is half my life! To say this is a passion of mine is an understatement, photography is in my blood, soul and heart but you probably gathered that by now.

I specialize in photographing women in particular. Events that honor and celebrate women are a favorite, I have photographed for Zonta’s fundraiser for three years now, South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity for 2 years and Miss Thurston Country Scholarship Pageant for 3 year this year.

I have created photographs that subtly speak to the interpretation of how the media influences a women’s interpretation of beauty and therefore herself. I studied photography at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

The love of education, media and photography has pushed me to create a series of workshops that are self-reflective empowering workshops in Olympia. The Hidden Power of Self Portraits focusing on self reflective exercises and past photographs of the self to bring one to a more happy and positive place, The 4 M’s of Empowerment getting positive and refocused fast and From Vision to Physical a course on turning the vision into the physical.

Olympia event photographer and women’s empowerment transformative packages, my rates are hourly and start at $350. If you are interested in working with me please send me an email to setup a free consultation. Workshops happen on a monthly basis so keep an eye out on facebook for the latest news.

I am very proud and happy to be part of something so incredibly important to women in this community! Thank you Habitat for Humanity!
